The Tranbi dining chair is our interpretation of the classic ‘Grass Seated Chair’ by George Nakashima, the master woodworker of Japanese descent who is known for his fusion of Eastern influences into mid-century modernism.
Crafted from natural teak in our workshop on the island of Bali, Tranbi presents a clean, elegant and timeless silhouette that puts a gentle modern twist on Nakashima’s original. Rather than natural grass, Tranbi ’s seat is woven with Loom; a sturdy rope made with recycled newspaper, making it a true classic for our times.
